This travel diary is the story of eighteen days driving through British Colombia, Yukon and Alaska. About 9000 kilometers in a unique and uncontaminated territory. Nature, lakes, mountains, glaciers, wildlife (moose, caribou, bears, eagles…), vast open spaces that extend beyond eye can see, but also the life and communities that have materialised along the Alaska Highway, the people, homes and buildings, sledge dogs, traces of the gold rush, Mount Denali/McKinley.
A journey that has been the realisation of a childhood dream.

Rita Guarini born in Bologna, degree in biological sciences at the University of Bologna, she is Associate Professor at the ‘Sapienza’ University of Rome. She has lived and worked in Bologna, Turin, New York and Rome.
Robin Foà. Nato a Wallsend (Inghilterra), laureato in medicina e chirurgia all’Università di Torino, è Professore Emerito di Ematologia all’Università ‘Sapienza’ di Roma. Ha vissuto e lavorato a Torino, Londra, New York e Roma. Ha pubblicato Deserti/Deserts nel 2011, China 1985 nel 2012, Nature and Man - insieme a Stefano Foà - nel 2013, Altopiano Andino/Andean Highlands nel 2014, Alaska Dreaming - insieme a Rita Guarini - nel 2016, Patagonia/Tierra del Fuego nel 2019 e Carretera Austral - ancora insieme a Rita Guarini - nel 2020. Nel corso degli anni, ha unito alla sua professione di medico la passione per i viaggi e la fotografia.
Robin Foà. Born in Wallsend (England), graduated in medicine from the University of Turin, Professor Emeritus of Hematology at the ‘Sapienza’ University of Rome. He has lived and worked in Turin, London, New York and Rome. He published Deserts in 2011, China 1985 in 2012, Nature and Man - together with Stefano Foà - in 2013, Andean Highlands in 2014, Alaska Dreaming - together with Rita Guarini - in 2016, Patagonia/Tierra del Fuego in 2019 and Carretera Austral - again with Rita Guarini - in 2020. Over the years, he has combined his medical profession with his passion for traveling and photography.
